About Me
I’m a friendly, caring and easy-going person. I’m naturally quite calm and don’t tend to get stressed easily, and I like to bring a positive attitude to things. I love being outdoors, especially camping, going for walks and taking the dog out. I’m approachable, patient and enjoy having a laugh, while also being someone who can be relied on.
My Experience
I have lots of experience caring for children of all ages, both professionally and through my family. I currently work as a Behaviour Lead in a pupil referral unit with young people aged 11–16. Previously, I worked at a private school with children aged 1–13, where I spent one day a week in the nursery and the rest of my time working as a Teaching Assistant and Boarding House Assistant.
Caring for children has also always been a big part of my home life. My mum has fostered children since I was two years old and continues to do so, so I’ve grown up around children of all different ages and needs. As I’ve got older, I’ve become a big part of her support network, helping with and babysitting the children in her care, including babies from just a few days old. I now live with my partner’s mum, who also fosters, so fostering and family life continue to be a big part of my everyday life.
Over the past few years, I’ve also regularly babysat children from around 6 months to 14 years old. Across my work, babysitting and experience with fostering, I’ve cared for children with a range of additional and special educational needs. I’m confident adapting to different children, routines, personalities and needs, and I always aim to make children feel safe, comfortable and happy in my care.
My Qualifications
I have 7 GCSE’s including Maths, English and Science. I also have a level 3 in Health and Social Care along with many training courses related to supporting children with SEN within schools, behaviour management, safeguarding etc.
I am First Aid trained and I’m a Drawing and Talking practitioner.
My Availability
I’m available on weekdays after work from around 4:30pm and throughout the evening. I’m also happy to offer occasional weekend babysitting and, with prior arrangement, overnight stays at weekends. I’m fairly flexible, so I’m always happy to discuss what works best for your family.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
Fees vary depending on children’s age, needs, the number of children and the hours required.
