About Me
I’m a very hands-on and playful mum, but also quite relaxed. I’m looking for some extra support because, like many mums, I have a limited village and would love an extra pair of hands — or, as I like to think of it, a “wingwoman”!
We’re a relaxed, family-oriented household. We enjoy cooking, beach walks, socialising, spending time with friends and family and making fun at home. Our household can be a mixture of busy and lively and calm and relaxed, depending on the day!
I work from home, so I’ll usually be around the house or nearby, although I may also be out running errands, at appointments or working. I’m very much looking for someone who is comfortable working alongside me and becoming part of our family routine.
We also have pets who are very much part of the household, although no pet care would be required.
My Requirements
Our little one is 11 months old and is a very cheeky, sociable, energetic and inquisitive little busy body! She has a strong personality and definitely knows her own mind. She’s currently learning to walk and loves being involved in whatever is going on around her.
She particularly enjoys “helping” with things like the washing and watching us cook, as well as playing and exploring. She is also happily able to play independently, which is something we actively encourage.
I’m looking for someone who is fun, calm, sensible, trustworthy, patient and nurturing, with plenty of experience caring for babies and young children.
Formal childcare qualifications and up-to-date paediatric first aid are essential.
Initially, the childcare will mainly be at home rather than taking her out independently. As the relationship and trust develops, this may naturally change.
I’m happy to work together on routines. I don’t expect someone to simply follow a rigid list of instructions, but consistency is important to us, so I’d like someone who will work with me and communicate well about what works for her.
We’re looking for a roughly 50/50 mix of childcare and mother’s-help support, rather than a traditional nanny role where the focus is solely on childcare.
Daily Requirements
Alongside childcare, I’m looking for someone who can help make the day-to-day running of the house a little easier.
This would include things such as:
* Preparing food and meals for our little one
* Keeping the kitchen and living areas tidy
* Tidying toys and play areas
* Light cleaning
* Helping with laundry
* Loading/unloading the dishwasher
* General household tidying and organisation
I’m definitely not looking for a full-time cleaner. What’s most important to me is someone who uses their initiative and naturally notices what needs doing.
If the washing needs hanging out, hang it. If the dishwasher needs unloading, unload it. If the kitchen needs a quick tidy while the baby is happily playing, crack on with it.
I don’t want someone who will only carry out a task if they’ve been specifically asked to do it. I’m looking for someone who is happy to get stuck in, doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty and genuinely wants to help make family life run more smoothly.
Ultimately, I’m hoping to find someone who feels like a trusted member of our little team — someone I can rely on, who will build a lovely relationship with our little one and genuinely become my wingwoman.
Hours part time and TBD but can be flexible around your current commitments.
