Precious
Babysitter in London
My Summary
About Me
Hi! I’m Precious ? I’m a friendly, caring and patient person who genuinely enjoys being around people and making them feel comfortable. I’d describe myself as someone who is easy to talk to, responsible when it matters, but also knows how to have a bit of fun — I definitely don’t believe everything has to feel like work!
I currently work in professional care, which has taught me a lot about patience, understanding different personalities and being someone that others can rely on. I’m naturally attentive and tend to notice the little things, whether that’s when someone needs a bit of extra encouragement or simply needs someone to listen.
I’m also quite creative and enjoy finding ways to keep people entertained and engaged, so I’d be happy getting involved with games, activities, crafts, reading or helping with homework. Most importantly, I understand that looking after someone’s child is a big responsibility, and I want both the child and their parents to feel comfortable, safe and confident in my care.
My Experience
I currently work as a Care Assistant at Home Instead, where I support people with their day-to-day needs and wellbeing. Although my professional experience is primarily within adult care, many of the skills I have developed are directly transferable to childcare.
My role has taught me how important it is to be patient, attentive and adaptable, as everyone has different needs, personalities and routines. I provide companionship, support with daily activities, prepare meals, encourage independence and communicate with families, while making sure the people I care for feel safe and comfortable.
I also have experience supporting people living with dementia, which has particularly strengthened my patience, communication and ability to remain calm when situations don’t go exactly to plan. I believe these qualities would be really valuable when caring for children too.
With children, I would bring the same level of responsibility and attentiveness, while making things more fun and age-appropriate. I’d be happy helping with homework, preparing simple meals, organising activities, playing games, reading, doing creative activities or simply being a friendly and reliable person they can spend time with.
I understand that every family has their own routines and expectations, so I’m happy to listen, communicate and adapt to what works best for you and your child.
My Qualifications
My professional care experience has given me practical knowledge of health, wellbeing, personal care, nutrition, mobility, medication support and recognising changes in someone’s condition. It has also taught me the importance of following instructions carefully, maintaining confidentiality and communicating concerns appropriately.
Through my role, I have developed strong skills in communication, patience, organisation, observation, responsibility and problem-solving. I am used to working with families and other professionals, following individual care plans and making sure the person I am supporting receives consistent and appropriate care.
I also have experience supporting people living with dementia, which has strengthened my ability to communicate patiently, remain calm in challenging situations and adapt my approach to different needs. I believe these are particularly valuable qualities when looking after children, as they require patience, understanding and someone who can respond appropriately when things don’t go to plan.
Alongside my care experience, I have studied at the Bauer Media Skills Academy, where I have developed my creativity, communication and teamwork skills. I would love to use this creative side when planning fun, age-appropriate activities, whether that’s arts and crafts, games, reading or finding new ways to keep a child entertained.
Most importantly, my experience has taught me that caring for someone is about much more than simply completing tasks. It’s about paying attention, building trust, listening and making sure the person feels safe, respected and supported — something I would carry with me when caring for your child.
