About Me
Hi! I’m Laura the Twickenham Doula. My passion is supporting families in the first few months of their baby’s life when it can feel overwhelming.
I know from my own experience and training what a difference it can make to have someone to support you in the early days of parenthood.
I love my job and it is such a joy to be able to give parents time to rest, recover and connect with their new baby.
How will I support you?
As your postnatal doula I will help you feel cared for, rested and reassured by
-looking after your baby whilst you rest to allow you to recover better
-helping you as an infant feeding peer supporter to breastfeed, bottle feed or do both
-making you something to eat and drink so you are nourished and re-energised
-helping you find your confidence as a parent and answering any questions you have about looking after your baby
-being there with a cup of tea to listen, chat and reassure you
-supporting you to think through options for issues, such as sleep in the early days, to find a solution that works for you and your family.
-coming with you to appointments or helping you to navigate public transport for the first time
-looking after an older sibling so you can spend time with your new baby or vice versa.
-signposting you to evidence based information and useful local services
-doing small chores giving you more time to rest or spend time together as a family
My Experience
I have been supporting families as a postnatal doula for two years. I have helped families having their first child and additional children, women becoming a solo parent or families with no relatives nearby to be there in the early days of parenthood. I have helped these families to ease the overwhelm of early parenthood and create a good foundation for the rest of their journey as parents. My support is tailored to your family and your needs and we can meet online to talk about what would work best for you.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified doula having trained with Developing Doulas in 2024 (a Doula UK accredited course). I am also an NCT trained infant feeding peer supporter.
My Availability
I am free on Mondays and Fridays all day as week as Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings.
My Fees
- Doulas from £27.00 per hour
My hourly rate is £27 with a reduction in price for blocks of 20 hours or more.
