About Me

I am a part-time working mum based in Orpington, looking for a warm, reliable and capable nanny/home childcarer to support my 12-year-old son, who will be 13 in November.

He is a kind, funny and engaging young person who is home educated alongside attending a local flexi-school. He enjoys football, the gym, martial arts, reading and technology. He is independent but benefits from consistency, encouragement and help maintaining a structured routine.

He has some additional learning needs that affect areas such as processing speed, fatigue, organisation and confidence.

He does not require personal care or any behavioural support. I would be very happy to explain his needs properly to suitable candidates.

I am looking for someone who can build a positive, respectful relationship with him and become a consistent part of our weekly routine.

My Requirements

Registered Childminder
Private Tutor
Out of School Club

I am seeking an Ofsted-registered nanny/home childcarer for approximately 20 guaranteed hours per week across Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Tuesday would be a split day, provisionally 9–10am to take my son to his flexi-school which is a 15 minute drive from our home, followed by collection at approximately 3/3:15pm and care until around 6pm.

Wednesday and Friday would consist of longer continuous daytime hours. This is anticipated to be 9-5pm

The role will include:

• Drop-off and collection from his local flexi-school on Tuesdays only
• Following and supporting a prepared home-learning and homework routine
• Encouraging reading, English, maths and online learning activities
• Helping him maintain structure, focus and organisation
• Preparing or overseeing a simple lunch
• Supporting confidence and increasing independence
• Walking with him to the local gym
• Taking him to activities such as football or martial arts when required
• Planning occasional age-appropriate outings and activities

I would particularly welcome someone who is articulate and confident supporting schoolwork. Experience as a teaching assistant, learning-support assistant, SEN nanny or with older children would be highly valued.

Essential requirements:

• Current Ofsted registration
• Enhanced DBS and current first-aid training
• Full driving licence and own car
• Recent, checkable references
• Calm, dependable and comfortable working with an older child

I am looking for a consistent, potentially long-term arrangement with someone my son feels comfortable with.
