About Me

Hello, I’m Jo. I am a warm, patient and compassionate person with a genuine passion for working with young children, from birth upwards. As a mother of three, I understand how important it is for families to find someone they can truly trust to care for their children. I know that having the right person supporting your family can make a huge difference to both children and parents, and I take that responsibility very seriously.

I am organised, flexible and reliable, and pride myself on creating a calm, nurturing and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued and able to be themselves.

I live in Edmonton with my daughters and our cats. I hold a full Enhanced DBS and a current Paediatric First Aid certificate.

My Experience

I have over 30 years’ experience working with children across a wide range of settings, including mainstream and special schools, nurseries and after-school clubs. I specialise in supporting children with SEND, including deafness (I am fluent in BSL), global developmental delay, complex needs, autism, ADHD and Down syndrome.

I am paediatric First Aid trained and committed to ongoing professional development, with a willingness to undertake any further training required to meet the needs of the children I support.

I have extensive experience working collaboratively with a range of professionals involved in children’s care and development, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Dietitians. I am confident in implementing therapy programmes and strategies within everyday activities and providing clear feedback to professionals following therapy blocks.

I have particular expertise in supporting children with communication and language delays, especially from the EYFS through to the end of Key Stage 2. I am able to plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that build on each child’s individual strengths, interests and needs, while creating a positive and supportive environment in which they can learn, communicate and thrive.
