About Me
I’m Mirren, an 18-year-old from Glasgow, Scotland, with a strong passion for childcare and supporting children’s development. I’m a caring, reliable and responsible person who enjoys building positive relationships with children and becoming a trusted part of their routine. As the oldest of six children, I’ve always been surrounded by younger children and naturally developed a patient and nurturing approach. I’m currently working as an au pair in Italy and am looking to take the next step into a nanny role where I can use my childcare experience and qualifications.
My Experience
I have a strong educational background in childcare, including an Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship at SCQF Level 6 / HNC in Social Services, Children and Young People. My training has given me knowledge of child development, safeguarding, health and safety, communication and supporting children’s individual needs. I’m also SEN trained, with knowledge of supporting children with additional needs including ADHD, autism and PICA.
My Qualifications
I have practical childcare experience gained through my professional training, work placements and current role as an au pair in Italy. In my current position, I support children with their daily routines, activities, meals and general care, while adapting to their individual personalities and needs. I’m confident caring for children independently, organising age-appropriate activities and maintaining a safe and positive environment. Growing up as the oldest of six has also given me extensive experience of helping with younger children and taking responsibility within a busy family environment.
