About Me

I’m a kind, thoughtful and understanding 19-year-old who is truly passionate about childcare and supporting little ones as they grow and learn. I’m paediatric trained and hold my Level 1 Makaton training, which I love using to help children communicate and feel understood. I’m also experienced with SEND children — I have so much patience to help regulate their emotions, guide them through big feelings, and always promote a positive, encouraging attitude. I’m very driven, reliable and dedicated to everything I do; I take pride in creating a safe, happy and nurturing space for every child I care for. I don’t drive yet, but I’m happy to travel using public transport and I’m always punctual and prepared. Most of all, I enjoy helping children discover new things, learn new skills, and watching their confidence grow every step of the way.

My Experience

I have 1 year of professional experience working in a busy nursery setting, where I cared for children across different age groups — from babies through to pre-schoolers. During that time, I helped with daily routines, meal times, play activities, and supported children with their early learning and development milestones. I learned how to work as part of a team, follow safeguarding procedures, and give each child individual care and attention. Alongside my nursery work, I’ve built up 3 years of experience looking after friends’ and family’s children in my own time — this includes one-to-one care, school runs, bedtime routines, and keeping little ones engaged with fun, age-appropriate activities. I’m paediatric trained and Level 1 Makaton trained, and I have hands-on experience supporting children with SEND needs. I’m comfortable helping children regulate their emotions, guiding them calmly through difficult moments, and always encouraging a positive mindset. I love being part of their journey and helping them feel safe, happy and supported wherever I am.

My Qualifications

I hold a Merit in Health and Social Care, which has given me a strong foundation in understanding the needs of others, safeguarding, health and wellbeing, and person-centred care. I am also Level 1 Makaton trained, meaning I can use basic signs and symbols to help children communicate, follow instructions, and feel more confident expressing themselves. Additionally, I am paediatric trained, so I have the knowledge and understanding of child health, development, safety procedures, and how to respond appropriately to children’s specific care needs. I’m really proud of these qualifications and I’m always eager to keep learning and building on them to give the best care I can.
