Childminder in Corby (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m Chelsey.
I’m a Ofsted registered Child Minder at Chelsey’s Little Explorer’s based at Priors Hall in Corby.
I live with my fiancé & 2 lovely daughters, Our home also includes one friendly cat and one friendly dog, who are used to being around children and live happily alongside my two young daughters.
I hold a full driving licence with appropriate insurance, as well as business insurance, allowing me to safely provide outings and experiences for the children in my care.
My aim is to make every child feel safe, valued and included, while providing plenty of opportunities for fun, learning, exploring and making happy memories.
My Experience
I’m passionate about providing a safe, happy, caring and nurturing home-from-home environment where children can feel comfortable, confident and supported as they learn, play and grow. Over the years, I have completed a wide range of additional training courses to continue building my knowledge within childcare, including healthy eating and nutrition, and I regularly complete refresher training to ensure my knowledge and skills remain up to date.
I work closely with parents and believe that good communication is really important. Every child is unique, so I take the time to understand each child’s individual needs, routines, interests and personality, working in partnership with their family to ensure their needs are met while they are in my care.
I’m very proud to have received many lovely reviews and recommendations from parents whose children have previously been in my care. Knowing that parents feel happy, comfortable and confident leaving their little ones with me is incredibly important.
We have a wide variety of fun and engaging activities available, including drawing, Play-Doh, painting, music time, circle time, baking, messy play and edible play. I also have personalised pictures of the children’s families, friends and animals, helping to create a familiar environment and encourage conversations about the people and things that are important to them.
Getting out and exploring our local community is an important part of our week. We regularly visit local playgroups, farms, parks and libraries, where the children can experience new surroundings, develop confidence and socialise with others.
We also have annual passes to attractions including the National Space Centre, local farms and soft-play centres, giving us lots of opportunities for exciting days out and new learning experiences throughout the year.
I regularly meet up with other local childminders and their children. This gives the children opportunities to make new friends, develop their social skills and enjoy activities as part of a wider group.
Parents are kept involved in their child’s day through daily photographs and observations. At the end of each day, I provide an update so parents can see what their child has been doing, the activities they have enjoyed and special moments from their day.
My Qualifications
I am an experienced and dedicated childcare professional with many years of experience working with children. I have developed a wide range of skills and knowledge, particularly in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
I hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Childcare and have previously worked in local preschool and nursery settings, giving me valuable hands-on experience in supporting children’s learning, development and individual needs.
I have undertaken additional training in SEND and regularly complete new training courses to continue developing my knowledge and skills. I am passionate about learning and always looking for ways to improve the support and care I provide to children.
As a parent of two children myself, I also understand the importance of providing a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where every child feels valued, included and encouraged to reach their full potential.
