My Experience

I have almost four years of experience working in childcare, with a strong background in both mainstream and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) settings.

My experience includes working in a nursery environment with children aged 0–4, as well as working in a SEND school supporting children and young people aged 5–19 with a range of additional needs. I have also gained experience through babysitting and working as a Personal Care Assistant, providing one-to-one support to a child with multiple special educational needs, complex care requirements and physical disabilities.

I have experience providing personal care and supporting individuals with PEG feeding and seizure management. I am also trained in moving and handling, including the safe use of hoists, and understand the importance of following appropriate care plans, safeguarding procedures and health and safety practices.

Through these roles, I have developed strong communication, patience, compassion and organisational skills. I am confident working as part of a team while also being able to provide attentive, individualised support based on each child’s unique needs.

- Patterns of child development Level 2 distinction
And I am learning Makaton!
