Kate
Babysitter in Folkestone
My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m Kate!
I’m passionate about creating a fun, safe and positive environment where children can be themselves, explore and grow in confidence.
I love getting to know each child as an individual and finding out what they enjoy, whether that’s playing imaginative games, getting creative, reading, heading outside or simply having someone to chat and spend time with. I’m patient and understanding, and I believe in giving children the freedom to explore their own interests while also providing clear and consistent boundaries.
I’m particularly passionate about the outdoors and love encouraging children to discover and appreciate nature. I’m a keen hiker and regularly go on long-distance hiking holidays, and I also love skiing and spending time in the mountains. Being outdoors has always been a big part of my own life, and I love the sense of adventure, curiosity and confidence it can bring.
Whether we’re out exploring or having a relaxed afternoon at home, my aim is for your child to feel happy, listened to, encouraged and safe - and for you to feel confident knowing they’re in caring and responsible hands.
My Experience
I have a wide range of experience working with children of different ages and backgrounds. I’m an auntie to two wonderful girls, who I’ve been lucky enough to look after and be involved with since they were born, and I’ve also spent lots of time caring for the children of friends and family.
Professionally, I have a few years of babysitting experience, as well as experience working as a private tutor in Maths, English and Science. I’ve also worked as a teacher in both primary and secondary schools, giving me experience supporting children at different stages of their development and learning.
I now work in the Civil Service, where being responsible, trustworthy and professional are important parts of my role. I bring all of these experiences together when caring for children, with a calm and patient approach.
My Qualifications
I have a strong academic background, with 10 GCSEs at A grade or above and 4 A Levels, all at A grade.
I went on to complete a BA (Hons), achieving a First Class degree, followed by a Master’s degree (MA).
I’m also a qualified yoga teacher, with qualifications in Hatha, Yin and Yoga Nidra, as well as a Level 3 qualification in Nutrition. I really value the benefits of movement, mindfulness, relaxation and healthy living, and enjoy bringing a calm and positive approach to the children I work with.
My Availability
I work Monday - Friday and teach yoga one or two evenings a week!
