About Me
Hi, I’m Advika! I’m originally from Bombay, India, and moved to the UK a year ago to pursue my master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I’m currently on placement as a trainee therapist, supporting children and adolescents with their mental health and emotional wellbeing. Working with young people means a lot to me, and I hope to continue counselling children in the long term.
I've always loved children and would love to take on babysitting alongside my placement hours. I’m warm, patient and attentive, and I care about helping children feel comfortable, listened to and at ease being themselves. My schedule is fairly flexible, and I’d be happy to get to know your family’s needs and routines so you feel comfortable and confident leaving your children in my care.
My Experience
I have experience babysitting for neighbours and looking after my younger cousins, aged between 5 and 10. We’ve spent time playing games, doing arts and crafts and reading stories together. I enjoy getting to know what each child likes and finding activities that keep them engaged and happy.
I’m also currently undertaking counselling placements, working with children, adolescents and adults as part of my master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy. This has helped me develop my patience, listening skills and understanding of different emotional needs. I bring a warm, calm and attentive approach to caring for children and am happy to follow parents’ routines and preferences.
My Qualifications
I hold a BA (Honours) in Liberal Arts, majoring in Psychology, and am currently completing a master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Keele University. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
My Availability
My schedule is fairly flexible, and I’m currently available on Monday and Wednesday mornings, weekends and most evenings apart from Tuesdays, when I attend my counselling placement. Availability may vary, so I’m happy to discuss the days and times you need.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
