About Me
Hi, I’m Summer! I’m an experienced Teaching Assistant with a genuine passion for working with children and helping them feel happy, safe and confident.
I currently work in a school with children aged 3-16, supporting children across the school day, including providing 1:1 support and helping children with additional needs. I have experience supporting children with SEN, including ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism and emotional and behavioural needs. I also have experience delivering literacy and reading interventions and supporting children with their confidence and wellbeing.
Before working in a school, I worked in a nursery with children aged 3 months – 5 years and have a Level 3 qualification in Early Years and Education. I have also completed ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) training, giving me additional knowledge and experience in supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, self-esteem and emotional regulation.
I’m looking to offer babysitting and childcare in the evenings and at weekends. I’m happy to help with homework, reading, bedtime routines and keeping children entertained with age-appropriate activities. I’m particularly comfortable caring for children who may need a little extra patience, reassurance or support.
I would describe myself as kind, patient, reliable and approachable. I understand how important it is for parents to feel completely comfortable with the person caring for their child, so I always aim to create a calm, safe and positive environment.

My Experience
Teaching Assistant – All through Independent School - Current Role
I currently work as a Teaching Assistant in an all through school, supporting children throughout the school day. I provide both general classroom support and 1:1 support, helping children with their learning, confidence, emotional wellbeing and day-to-day routines. I have experience supporting children with a range of additional needs, including ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, PDA, OCD and situational mutism. I also support children with reading, phonics, writing and maths interventions and adapt activities to suit individual children’s needs.
Nursery Practitioner:2022 - 2024
I previously worked in a nursery setting with children aged 3 months – 5 years. This gave me experience caring for young children, supporting their development through play and activities, following routines and creating a safe and nurturing environment.
After-School Club Manager - 2025
I have also worked in an after-school club, where I was responsible for organising activities, supervising children and helping to create a fun and safe environment outside of school hours. I was promoted to manager shortly after joining the setting, giving me additional experience with responsibility and leadership.
Additional Training:
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years and Education and have completed ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) training. My training has given me additional experience and understanding around children’s emotional wellbeing, self-esteem, resilience and emotional regulation.
Alongside my professional childcare experience, I also regularly babysit for families, providing reliable and caring evening and weekend childcare. I’m comfortable following children’s usual routines, preparing meals, helping with bedtime and keeping them entertained with age-appropriate activities.
Overall, I have several years of experience working with children in both educational and childcare settings, and I am particularly confident supporting children who may need additional patience, reassurance or individualised support.
