About Me
We are a family of three moving to the area in December 2026. Our son, Veikko, is currently 3 years and 7 months old. He is a gentle, happy and curious little boy, but he is also very shy around people he does not know well and not very comfortable with a messy and loud crowd.
Veikko has been attending his current nursery since he was 2 years old, but despite being settled there for quite some time, he still refuses to speak at nursery. At home and with people he feels completely comfortable with, he talks normally and has a lovely personality.
Because of this, finding the right person and environment is particularly important to us. We are looking for someone patient, warm and understanding who will take the time to build a relationship with him, earn his trust and help him feel safe enough to gradually become more confident and comfortable speaking.
My Requirements
We are looking for childcare for Veikko from January 2027, following our move to the area in December.
We would particularly like to find a small, nurturing setting or childminder where Veikko can receive more individual attention and build a close relationship with his caregiver. We are not looking for anyone to pressure him to speak; instead, we would like someone who understands that he needs time, reassurance and trust before he feels comfortable expressing himself.
We would love to arrange a visit beforehand so that Veikko can meet you and become familiar with the setting. He will also be eligible for funded childcare, and we are happy to discuss days, hours and the registration or waiting-list process.
