Megan
Nanny in Dundee (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I’m Megan, and I’m currently looking for a full-time live-in nanny position in London.
I have several years of experience working professionally with children and young people in both the UK and USA. Most recently, I spent the summer working as an Activities Manager at a residential summer camp in California, where I helped oversee the activity programme, supported and managed staff, organised events and activities, and worked closely with children and young people throughout the summer.
I’ve also previously worked as a camp counsellor and have around five years of experience working with children through David Lloyd Clubs, alongside other hospitality and customer-facing roles. Working with children has always been the part of my career that I’ve enjoyed most, and I’m now really keen to bring that experience into a nanny role and become a consistent, trusted part of a family’s everyday life.
I’m a warm, caring and creative person and love finding ways to make everyday life fun for children, whether that’s arts and crafts, games, baking, days out, imaginative activities or simply spending time together. My camp experience has also made me very comfortable organising busy days, adapting when plans change, taking responsibility and creating an environment where children feel happy, included and supported.
Outside of work, I love acting and theatre, writing, reading, travelling and exploring new places. I’m originally from Scotland and am looking to relocate to London, so I’m particularly interested in a live-in position with a family where we feel like a genuinely good fit for one another.
I hold a full UK driving licence and am happy to discuss my experience, availability and references with interested families. I’d love to hear from you if you think I could be a good fit for your family!
My Experience
I have around five years of professional experience working with children, alongside multiple summers working at residential summer camps in California.
For around five years, I worked within the Kids Team at David Lloyd Clubs, working with children of a range of ages and helping to deliver activities, games, sports, creative sessions and holiday programmes. This gave me extensive experience supervising children, keeping them engaged and entertained, managing different personalities and needs, and creating a fun and safe environment.
I have also worked at residential summer camps in California, where I have had responsibility for children throughout busy camp days and within a residential environment. I initially worked directly with campers as a counsellor and later progressed into more senior roles.
Most recently, I worked as an Activities Manager, helping to oversee the camp's activity programme and supporting a large team of staff. My responsibilities included planning and coordinating activities and events, supervising and supporting staff, problem-solving, managing schedules and helping ensure children had a positive, safe and memorable experience.
Working in residential camp environments has made me confident taking responsibility, thinking on my feet and handling busy days where plans can change quickly. I'm comfortable planning activities, helping children with routines, supporting them when they're upset or homesick, encouraging independence and making sure they feel included and listened to.
Although my professional childcare background has primarily been within clubs and residential camps rather than private nannying, I believe the experience and responsibility I've gained transfers very naturally into a nanny role. I'm now excited to work more closely with one family and provide consistent, individual care for their children.
