My Requirements
Start date: February 2027
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
Location: Hammersmith
We are a Brazilian–English family looking for a warm, experienced and highly organised nanny to care for our son, who will be one year old when the role begins. Mum is Brazilian and Dad is English, and both English and Portuguese are spoken at home.
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys caring for young children, takes pride in their work and will build a loving, trusting relationship with our son. Our ideal nanny is nurturing, reliable and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and a calm, thoughtful approach.
The role includes:
- Providing attentive care and supporting our son’s development through age-appropriate play, books, music and outings.
- Following his established meal and sleep routines, working with us as his needs develop.
- Enjoying cooking and preparing varied, nutritious homemade meals and snacks, with careful attention to food preparation and storage.
- Taking responsibility for his day-to-day belongings, including clothes, toys, books, feeding equipment and nursery supplies.
- Managing his laundry, including washing, drying, folding and putting away clothes and bedding.
- Keeping his nursery, play spaces and eating areas well cared for, with toys and equipment washed as needed and everything put away after use.
- Planning ahead for meals and outings, keeping his changing bag ready and noticing when supplies need replenishing.
- Sharing daily updates on meals, sleep, activities and development.
The right person for our family will:
- Have proven experience caring for babies and young toddlers, supported by excellent, checkable references.
- Be naturally methodical and take real satisfaction in maintaining an orderly, carefully looked-after environment.
- Notice the small details and complete tasks thoroughly, without needing repeated reminders.
- Be affectionate, patient and engaged, making our son’s wellbeing and enjoyment the priority.
- Communicate openly and respectfully and be comfortable working closely with parents.
- Speak English; Portuguese would be a welcome bonus.
Qualifications and checks:
* A recognised childcare qualification, ideally Level 3 or above.
* A current 12-hour paediatric first aid certificate.
* An up-to-date enhanced DBS check.
* At least two recent, contactable childcare references.
* The right to work in the UK.
We take great care of our home and our son’s belongings, and we would love to find someone who shares that instinct. Consistent routines, thoughtful preparation and leaving things ready for the next part of his day are especially important to us.
Please send your CV, availability, salary expectations and a short introduction describing your experience with this age group. We would also love to hear how you organise a child’s daily routine and what you enjoy cooking for young children.
