Live Out Nanny Job in Walton-on-Thames
About Me
Hello! My name is May, and we are a warm, welcoming Malaysian Chinese family living in Walton-on-Thames (KT12). We are looking for a kind, nurturing, and reliable part-time nanny to care for our lovely daughter. She currently attends nursery full-time but we are transitioning her to a hybrid schedule (3 days nursery, 2 days at home) to give her a gentler routine, more 1-on-1 attention, and to help support her immune system.We are a respectful, clean, and collaborative household, and we look forward to building a wonderful relationship with a dedicated childcare professional who will become an extension of our family.
My Requirements
Start Date: End of January 2027 (Our daughter will be 18 months old by then)
Days Required: Every Wednesday and Thursday
Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (10 hours per day / 20 hours per week)
Key Qualifications: Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certificate (essential) and an Enhanced DBS check.
The Ideal Candidate:
We need an experienced caregiver who deeply understands the practicalities of toddler development. You should be confident in tracking 18-month developmental milestones, spotting early speech and physical cues, and smoothly managing changing nap and meal transitions. Clear spoken English is required to support her expanding vocabulary through reading, singing, and constant, positive interaction.
Language Focus:We would highly welcome and value a nanny who speaks Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), as we love the idea of our daughter being exposed to our heritage language at home. If not a native speaker, excellent and clear spoken communication is required to support her expanding vocabulary through reading, singing, and constant, positive interaction.
Daily Duties
Activities: Planning safe, calm, and stimulating age-appropriate activities (reading books, sensory play, and local outdoor walks/park visits).
Nutrition: Preparing healthy snacks and meals. We are enthusiastic about our family's dietary preferences and would love a nanny who is completely comfortable serving or preparing traditional Asian toddler meals (such as congee, rice, or noodle dishes).
Routine: Managing daytime nap schedules and providing plenty of comfort and dedicated 1-on-1 focus.
Health & Sickness Care:
Our daughter catches nursery bugs frequently. A core part of this role is being entirely competent and comfortable caring for a mildly unwell toddler at home. This includes identifying early symptoms, safely managing daytime fevers, administering Calpol/infant medication (strictly with parental consent), and keeping her comforted with quiet, restful care when she is fighting off a bug.
Our Home Setup Rules:
To ensure our home remains a safe, healthy, and happy space, we have a few simple daily requests:
Screen-Free Environment: We are keeping things strictly screen-free for our daughter. There is to be no TV, phone, or tablet use for her. We have plenty of toys, puzzles, and books to keep her busy!
Shoes-Off House: We are a shoes-off household. Please feel free to bring comfortable socks or a clean pair of indoor slippers to wear inside.
Commute & Hygiene: If you travel to us by train or public transport, we kindly ask that you bring a clean shirt or set of indoor clothes to change into when you arrive. This helps us keep a very fresh, germ-free environment at home after public transport commutes.
