About Me
We're a friendly, relaxed family of four living in Peterborough. We have two children, aged 12 and 7, who are both at local schools.
We're a busy working family, but home life is pretty laid-back. The kids have their own personalities and interests, and at their ages they're quite independent in lots of ways. We're really looking for someone who can slot naturally into our normal routine and make things feel easy and familiar when I'm away with work.
My job involves occasional travel throughout the year, which is why we're looking for some extra support. Rather than having lots of different childcare arrangements, we'd love to find one lovely, reliable person who can get to know us and become a familiar face to the children.
We're very happy to arrange some casual babysitting beforehand so everyone has a chance to get to know each other before any travel days come up.
Ultimately, we're looking for someone kind, trustworthy and down-to-earth who the children feel comfortable with, and hopefully someone who enjoys being part of our slightly busy but very normal family life!
My Requirements
We're looking for a lovely, reliable person to help with occasional childcare for our two children, aged 12 and 7, when I need to travel for work.
This isn't a regular weekly position. I travel relatively infrequently, so we expect to need help for approximately 10–15 days across the whole year, with most dates known well in advance.
On those days, we would typically need:
Morning: Around 6:00am until school drop-off
Afternoon: School pick-up until around 6:00pm
The children attend Gunthorpe Primary School and Manor Drive Secondary Academy. We live in the PE3 area, and childcare would take place in our home between school runs.
We'd really love to find one consistent person who can get to know the children and our family, rather than arranging different childcare every time I travel. We'd also be very happy to arrange some babysitting beforehand so everyone can get comfortable with each other.
Because of the school runs, you'll need to be a confident driver with your own car. We're ideally looking for someone with childcare experience, references and an enhanced DBS check.
The most important thing to us is finding someone who is warm, dependable and comfortable becoming a familiar face for the children.
