Qualified Teacher, former primary school headteacher and Early Years Specialist of 25 years. Passionate about making childhood special for children and supporting their needs. I love outdoor learning (think Forest School, making forts and mud kitchens!), creativity and art, STEM, being a role-model for kindness and empathy, having a positive ‘can-do’ outlook, especially when things don’t go to plan, cooking with children and developing a love and curiosity about nature. My own 2 daughters are now thriving at college and university, so I am in a fortunate position to decide what I would like the next chapter of my career to look like. After stepping into work with universities, I am now looking to return to working directly with families and their young children. It is a privilege to be part of a child’s life and I would like to find a fit where I can provide reliability, expert care and learning through tailored experiences and approach for your child; play, fun, investigation and exploration, outings, books, singing and quieter, methodical activities and supporting homework if needed.
My Experience
25+ years as a primary teacher but my passion and expertise has been in Early Years, where I was a Lead Early Years Teacher for London Borough of Merton - with a specialism in creating exceptional learning environments both indoors and outside. I was a Nanny in Canada for a wonderful private household and took care of their 13 month old son, whilst I lived there. As I currently work with universities, I still do some evening babysitting for a few families in my local area, by recommendation only. I have current Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety Certificate (Early Years), Allergy Awareness Certificate, Full Paediatric First Aid Certificate, Exemplary Practice with Babies Certificate and Enhanced DBS certificate with the Update Service.

BA (Hons) Primary Education with Creative Arts & Certificate in Education (QTS), Brunel University.
National Professional Qualification for Headship, Surrey Teaching Schools Network.
Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Surrey Teaching Schools Network.
Full Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety Certificate.
Food Allergy Awareness Certificate.

- Nannying from £30.00 per hour (gross)
Depending on the role £55,000 - £85,000 per annum.
