About Me
I'm a dad in the BS4 area looking for a kind, reliable and genuine person to provide regular after-school care for my son. He's a funny, thoughtful and engaging primary-school-aged boy with a great sense of humour and a love of gaming, nature and cats.
I'm particularly interested in finding someone patient, positive and neurodiversity-aware who can build a genuine relationship with him. A good sense of humour would definitely help!
My Requirements
I'm looking for regular after-school care on a repeating two-week pattern:
Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday
Approximately 3:10pm–6:00pm.
I can currently cover Wednesdays myself, so there is some flexibility for the right person.
The role would involve school collection, bringing my son home to BS4, giving him time to decompress after school, preparing an evening meal, play/relaxed time and some light support with reading, spellings and writing where appropriate.
Experience or a good understanding of neurodiversity/SEND is important. I'm looking for someone calm, patient and flexible who can provide appropriate boundaries while using explanation, genuine choices and a relationship-led approach.
Initially, care would primarily be home-based after school while trust and a safe relationship are established.
Above all, I'm looking for someone with whom my son can feel safe, happy, heard and respected.
