About Me
I’m a mum of four and life is pretty busy in our house! I have a 17-year-old autistic son, a 13-year-old with autism, ADHD and a bowel condition, and an 8-year-old with sensory needs. My eldest is 19 and at university in Cambridge, but comes home during the holidays.
We’re a lively, close family and there’s usually a lot going on! We also have a very friendly Rottweiler and two cats. I’m looking for someone kind, reliable and easy-going who can fit into our busy family life and give me a bit of extra help.
My Requirements
Routines are important in our home. The role would involve school pick-ups for my 13-year-old and 7-year-old. They attend different schools, but the schools are only about 5 minutes apart and within a 10-minute walk from home. Both children have swimming lessons, and the pool is around a 20-minute walk away, so no car is needed.
Other duties include providing snacks, helping with reading and homework, preparing lunches for the following day, checking school bags and making sure baths/showers are done. There may also be a 30-minute dog walk. The children can sometimes be challenging or defiant, so I’m looking for someone who is calm, patient and confident under pressure, while being able to maintain routines and boundaries.
