After School Nanny Job in Manchester
About Me
About Us & Our Family
We are a close-knit, hands-on family of four in Swinton (us and our two daughters, aged nearly 5 and 2). We both work in high-pressure roles, so absolute reliability and smooth communication are essential for us. Because our workdays are intense and we have limited local support, we are especially intentional about keeping our home environment calm, steady, and supportive - naturally revolving around our children’s needs and rhythms. We even practice a daily "family needs plan" where we collaboratively problem-solve how to support each other each day.
Our home atmosphere is calm, steady, and responsive - we move between silly dance parties, immersive arts and crafts, role play, and quiet downtime depending on what everyone’s nervous system needs. We love being outdoors daily, whether that’s local park visits, trips to RHS, swimming, or spending time in the garden.
My Requirements
After-School & Morning Nanny for Creative 5-Year-Old (Thursdays)
Location: Swinton (The Deans Primary School run)
Hours: Thursdays, 7:15 AM – 9:00 AM & 3:25 PM – 6:15 PM (~4.5–5 hours total)
Requirements: Enhanced DBS, Driver or confident walker (20 mins to school)
About the Role
We are looking for a calm, connection-first nanny to support our bright, creative 5-year-old girl on Thursdays.
Morning: Gentle breakfast routine and drop-off at The Deans for 8:50 AM.
Afternoon: Pickup at 3:25 PM, providing healthy snacks/light tea, and facilitating downtime or child-led play until 6:00–6:15 PM.
She loves arts and crafts, imaginative play, science experiments, and visits to the local park.
Our Approach
After a full school day, our priority is helping her decompress using a low-demand, nervous-system-aware approach:
Connection & Pacing: Using forward-narration, low pressure, and coregulation to navigate transitions smoothly.
Attunement: Being present and nurturing—knowing when she needs heavy work/movement, creative play, or quiet space.
Loving Limits: Setting clear, agreed-upon boundaries around safety while keeping screen time and sugar minimal.
Ideal Candidate
Up-to-date Enhanced DBS (essential).
Experienced or interested in neuro-affirming / low-demand practices.
Intuitive, patient, and grounded, with a focus on being present rather than managing heavy housework (just light cleanup after tea/crafts).
