About Me
We are a family of three; myself, my husband and our baby daughter.
I’m currently on maternity leave, so at the moment I’m very hands-on and available, but we’re both extremely passionate about our daughter’s development and creating a warm, stimulating environment for her from an early age.
One of the things that’s particularly important to us is language exposure. We would love for our daughter to become familiar with both Spanish and Mandarin, so we’re especially interested in finding a nanny who speaks one of these languages and is happy to use it naturally while interacting with her through play, books, songs, tummy time and everyday conversation.
At the moment, we’re looking for someone to spend a few regular hours with her each week, with the focus being on relaxed, responsive interaction rather than formal teaching.
When I return to work, likely towards the end of this year or the beginning of next year, our childcare needs will increase. My mother-in-law will help with childcare, but on days when she is unavailable, we would ideally like to have a trusted nanny we can call on for around 5 hours a day.
Ultimately, we’d love to find someone who can build a genuine relationship with our daughter and potentially become a familiar, long-term part of her routine as she grows.
My Requirements
* Experience caring for young babies
* Comfortable following our daughter’s existing routine
* Able to recognise and respond to hunger, tiredness and overstimulation cues
* Support naps and help settle her when needed
* Engage her in age-appropriate play during her wake windows
* Tummy time, floor play, reaching and grasping activities
* Reading books and singing nursery rhymes
* Lots of responsive interaction, including talking, smiling, pausing and responding to her babbling and gestures
* Speak predominantly in Spanish or Mandarin while interacting with her
* Naturally repeat simple words and phrases throughout play and everyday care
* Create a calm, stimulating and developmentally appropriate environment
* Comfortable taking her for walks or age-appropriate outings if agreed
* Keep her toys, bottles and baby equipment clean and organised
* Wipe down toys, play mats and surfaces she uses
* Light baby-related tidying while she is asleep
* Provide a brief update after each session covering feeds, naps, mood, activities and anything important noticed
* Follow all household safety rules and any instructions relating to our daughter’s care
* Reliable, punctual and comfortable becoming a consistent part of her routine
