About Me

Hi I’m Ellie.
I’m a friendly, caring and reliable person who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and helping them feel happy, comfortable and cared for. I live in Tadworth, Surrey.

I currently work for a local authority in education support, and I have several years of experience working with children. Before my current role, I worked as a Learning Support Assistant in an infant school for three years, supporting hearing-impaired children and children with additional needs. I really enjoyed this role and it taught me the importance of being patient, understanding and adapting to each child’s individual personality and needs.

I also previously worked as a weekday nanny for a lovely family for three years. I collected their child from school, prepared their dinner, helped with homework and spent time with them after school until their parents came home. I really enjoyed being part of their routine and family.

Although I don’t have children of my own, I regularly look after children within my family and friendship circle, from around 1 to 7 years old. I love spending time with them, whether that’s playing, doing activities, helping with homework or simply having a chat about their day!

One of the benefits of my current situation is that I can be quite flexible and understanding when family routines or arrangements change. I know that school and family life doesn’t always go exactly to plan, so I’m happy to work with you and accommodate changes where I can.

I am DBS checked, first aid trained and have a clean, full driving licence with my own reliable vehicle. This means I’m able to help with school collections and morning childcare, as well as providing a safe and dependable service for your family.

Most importantly, I understand that leaving your children with someone is a big decision. I would want you to feel completely comfortable and confident that they are in safe, caring and capable hands. I’m approachable, dependable and happy to build a good relationship with both you and your children.

My Experience

My Experience

I have several years of experience working with children in both professional and family settings, and I’ve always found working with children to be incredibly rewarding.

For three years, I worked as a Learning Support Assistant in an infant school, supporting children with a range of additional needs, including hearing impairments. I worked with children individually and in small groups, helping them with their learning, confidence and independence. This experience taught me the importance of being patient, understanding and adapting my approach to suit each child.

I also previously worked as a nanny for a family for three years. I collected the children from school, brought them home safely, prepared their dinner, helped with homework and looked after them until their parents returned home. I really enjoyed becoming part of their routine and getting to know their individual personalities and interests.

I also regularly care for children within my family and friendship circle, from around 1 to 7 years old. This has given me experience with different ages and stages, from entertaining and caring for younger children to helping older children with homework and encouraging their independence.

I’m happy to help with all those everyday things that make family life easier — getting children ready in the morning, school drop-offs and collections, preparing meals, homework, play and activities, and simply being there to give them a safe and happy environment while you’re at work.

I would always take the time to get to know your children, their personalities and their routines, as I believe children are happiest when they feel comfortable, listened to and understood.

My Qualifications

I have a first-class degree in Sociology, which has given me a strong understanding of people, families, communities and child development.

I have also worked for a local authority for the past 8 years within children’s education, giving me extensive experience of working in an education environment and supporting children and families.

I have a current DBS check and am first aid trained, so you can feel confident that your children are in safe and responsible hands. I also have a clean, full UK driving licence and my own vehicle, which means I’m able to help with school collections and morning drop-offs where needed.

I feel my combination of professional experience, education background and practical childcare experience allows me to provide caring, reliable and responsible support for families.

My Availability

I am currently able to offering the following, however I am happy to discuss accommodating flexibility on hours to fit your family’s schedule.

I’m available Monday to Friday for morning childcare from 7:00am to 9:00am, which could include helping children get ready for school and taking them to school if needed.

I’m also available after school from 2:30pm to 7:00pm, including school collections, bringing children home, preparing meals, helping with homework and keeping them happy and entertained until you’re home.

I can also offer occasional evening babysitting during the week and at weekends, depending on my availability.
