My Requirements

Looking for part time SEN childcare for Toby; we’re currently awaiting tribunal (sept 2027) for a SEN school placement. He is Level 3 ASD, preverbal, and also diagnosed with Moderate Learning difficulties, and Global development delay.
He can communicate some needs - if he’s hungry or thirsty he will always let you know. Although he can’t communicate exactly what he wants to eat, so it’s mostly a guessing game of his safe foods - a list of these can be provided!
It’s not very often he’s unhappy, 99% of the time he is the happiest little soul you’ll ever meet. But if for any reason he is upset, he requires a quiet/sensory place, and if all else fails - nothing cheers him up more than some chocolate buttons, hey duggee and and big squeezy hug.
He’s constantly on the go, and has no fear/sense of danger, he has a hobbledehoo harness whenever we’re outside - so needs someone to keep an eye on him all the time! He is still in nappies, as he’s not aware of when he’s had a wee or BM and cannot communicate that to us; we’re currently going through the NHS Bladder & Bowel services with him.
He loves to play, he’s happy to do it by himself, and will play next to/alongside other peers (this is a very recent development over the last 6 months) but does prefer to interact with adults regarding play.
He’s a complex, but also the most loving and friendly little guy you’ll ever meet - you can’t help but love him when you meet him!
