About Me
Hi! I'm Molly, a third-year English Literature undergraduate with a background in education and childcare. I love helping children to find the fun in learning, and I am passionate about making education accessible, engaging and supportive for every student I work with.
My main focus is supporting Primary-aged children across their core subjects (Maths, English and Science.) My experience working with young children has shown me that patience, encouragement, and a tailored approach to their learning goes a long way in keeping them focused, curious and motivated. As a tutor, I break concepts down into small, manageable steps, so that each child builds real confidence as they go.
I believe every child learns differently, so I adapt my teaching to each learner's individual pace and interests. The most effective learning happens when lessons are fun and memorable!
More than anything, I aim to create a warm, welcoming, and pressure-free space where children feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace.
My Experience
I have spent several years working directly with children in both educational and pastoral settings. As a Maths and English Tutor with Explore Learning, I planned and delivered one-to-one lessons for children aged 4-14 years, helping them to build confidence in core subjects. During these sessions, I learnt to adapt my approach for different learning needs. I have also worked as a Learning Support Assistant, supporting KS2 classes with 1-1 and small group learning.
Alongside this, I have volunteered as a Girlguiding Leader since October 2021. In this role, I am responsible for the safety and wellbeing of every child during sessions, making sure they feel safe, included, and valued from the moment they walk in. I plan and deliver activities using Girlguiding's structured programme, helping children to work towards badges and personal goals. I value this role very highly, and love watching the children build their confidence, independence and skills over time.
My Qualifications
I am currently a third-year undergraduate at Royal Holloway, University of London, studying towards a BA in English. Alongside my degree, I hold 3 A Levels in English Literature, Psychology and History, along with 8 GCSEs including English, Science and Mathematics.
On top of my academic background, I'm DBS certified, First Aid trained, alongside ongoing training in safeguarding practices.
