About Me
Hello! I’m Soren I’m 21 and I’m a friendly, caring and creative childcare worker with experience in breakfast clubs, after-school care and holiday clubs. My approach is warm and child-centred: I like to get to know each child individually, encourage their interests and make sure they feel listened to, comfortable and confident around me.
I love planning creative activities, getting outdoors, imaginative play and finding ways to make everyday things fun. I’m also very happy with quieter activities like homework help, reading and one-to-one time. I believe in being patient and understanding while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
Outside of childcare, I study Politics and history at the University of Liverpool and love nature, photography, arts and crafts, and anything creative. I’m dependable, enthusiastic and genuinely really enjoy spending time with children and becoming someone they can trust and have fun with while becoming a supportive role for parents.
My Experience
When I’m not at university, I am a Playworker at a breakfast/afterschool and holiday club, working alongside children with a great variety of needs and personalities with ages spanning between 3-11. I supervise both groups and individual children, plan and lead age-appropriate activities, support positive behaviour and help children navigate disagreements and difficult emotions calmly. My experience has taught me how important it is to recognise that every child communicates and responds differently. I adapt my approach to individual needs, provide one-to-one reassurance when needed and encourage independence and confidence while maintaining clear boundaries. I’m also experienced in safeguarding procedures, maintaining safe play environments, preparing and serving food, supporting daily routines and communicating effectively with both children and colleagues. I regularly plan creative, sensory, educational and outdoor activities.
My Qualifications
Alongside GCSEs and A-levels, I have completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 Safeguarding training, as well as Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene training, and I hold a current DBS check. These qualifications complement my practical childcare experience and have given me a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, responding appropriately in emergencies, maintaining a safe environment and supporting children’s wellbeing.
My Availability
As I’m a student I need to work around my uni timetable however I’m available most mornings and evenings and weekends.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £14.00 per hour
My standard rate is £14 per hour, although I’m happy to be flexible depending on the hours, number of children and responsibilities involved. I’m passionate about providing high-quality, reliable childcare while keeping my rates as accessible as possible for families. I understand that good childcare can be a significant expense, so I’m always happy to discuss arrangements that work well for both the family and myself, particularly for regular or longer-term care.
