My Experience
During my time at college, I did my placement at a primary school, and during that time, I also worked with some SEND children within the school. Learning how to navigate the needs of a non-verbal child and to make sure that he and I understood what each other was trying to say to each other. When a child with behavioral and emotional needs starts to hit and throw things, you have to know how to gain control of the situation because, if you don't, he or another child could get hurt. You also need to find out what happened so you can get to the root cause of the problem and to be able to help them.
