About Me

Hi! My name is Yvette, and I’m a final-year law student at one of the UK’s top universities. Having grown up across Asia and Oceania, I’ve developed a deep passion for people, community, and learning.

I’m fluent in three languages and currently learning two more, which has given me a strong appreciation for the excitement of discovering new perspectives and ways of thinking. I also graduated with honours and received awards from the Victorian Government in recognition of my achievements.

One of the things I’ve especially enjoyed throughout the years is tutoring. I love helping students build confidence, tackle challenges, and discover that learning can be genuinely exciting. Through tutoring, I hope to share my enthusiasm for learning and create classes that are engaging, interactive, and tailored to each student.

My goal is simple: to make every lesson something you look forward to!

My Experience

My tutoring experience spans a wide range of ages and learning environments. I have primarily worked with final-year high school students across both the IB and VCE curricula, teaching languages and supporting students through the university application process.

Beyond tutoring, I spent a year caring for three children aged 2–8, where I supported their learning and development through play, helped with homework, and encouraged learning at home. During my gap year, I also volunteered twice a week at a toy library, where I spent most of my time playing and engaging with children aged 2–6. Through my university’s pro bono programme, I also taught a class of GCSE students about the UK Government and fundamental concepts in law.

These experiences have taught me that every student learns differently. I particularly enjoy getting to know each student’s interests and adapting my approach to make learning both effective and genuinely enjoyable.
