About Me
Hi, I'm Mandy of Ohana Hugs Childminding. I'm an experienced Early Years teacher and have taught in Nursery and Reception for many years. I am a mom of 2 children who are now 10 and 13, and have a tiny Yorkshire terrier who loves blankets and tummy tickles. She loves to say hello and is very friendly but is kept in a separate area of the house from where I mind the children for peace of mind. During my years dedicated to teaching young children, I have completed a multitude of training that has developed my ability to help all children develop to their full potential, with a particular focus on early language development. I also hold a full paediatric first aid certificate, DBS, safeguarding lead qualification and food hygiene training certificate. I am fully insured and childmind from the dedicated upstairs area of my home where there is a playroom, quiet sleeping area and bathroom all within a convenient open plan space . I have an enclosed garden for outdoor play, as well as having a multitude of parks and outdoor areas within walking distance for lots of fresh air and outdoor exploring. I provide children with social opportunities to attend playgroup and library sessions and get out and about in the community.
I believe in working closely with families to ensure that children are happy, nurtured and thriving and look forward to welcoming your 1-5 year old into my cosy and homely setting.
My Experience
- 18 years as a qualified teacher, the most recent 10 years being in Early Years
- vast experience supporting children who have English as an additional language
- have supported SEND children (including those with ADHD, autism and speech and language delays)

PGCE - Qualified teacher status

Designated safeguarding lead certificate
My Availability
Spaces available from January 2027 for children ages 1-5.

- Childminding from £7.50 per hour
