My Requirements

I’m currently pregnant and looking ahead for childcare for our baby girl from around 22 September 2027. I’m due in December 2026.

We live in Easton (close to Greenbank) and are hoping to find a lovely local childminder for three full days a week. My partner and I are both university lecturers; I work at the University of Oxford and my partner at the University of Bath. We commute on some working days.

We don’t yet know exactly which three days we would need, as this will depend on our teaching timetables, but there should be some flexibility on our side depending on your availability. We should be eligible for the working-parent funded hours once our baby reaches the relevant age/term, so it would also be helpful to know whether you accept funded hours and Tax-Free Childcare.

We’re also interested in how much flexibility you might be able to offer around university holidays. Our university terms don’t quite correspond to school term dates, and there may be a few weeks at certain points in the year when we wouldn’t need childcare, or when we might need fewer days. We could give plenty of notice of these dates and completely understand that you need predictable hours and income, so we’re really just interested in understanding what flexibility, if any, you’re able to offer.
