About Me

Hi there!

I currently work for the Metropolitan Police, and although I really enjoy my job, I have always had a genuine love for working with children.

I grew up in a big family and became an auntie when I was just four years old, so caring for and being around children has always been a big part of my life. I’m also available for childminding, although as I work full-time, I would need to check my schedule around any requested dates.

I have GCSEs in both English Language and English Literature, with English being one of my strongest subjects at school.

For me, however, teaching children is about much more than qualifications. I remember having tutors myself when I was growing up and, if I’m honest, I often found the lessons boring. I would sit there nodding along while my mind wandered off elsewhere!

There was one tutor, though, who I have never forgotten. The reason? She made learning fun.

That is exactly the kind of tutor I would like to be.

My parents also fostered children when I was a teenager, and I would often help the children with their schoolwork. I absolutely loved seeing that moment when something finally clicked and their faces lit up because they understood something they had previously found difficult.

I understand that not understanding a subject can feel daunting and frustrating, especially for a child. That’s why I believe patience, encouragement and making learning enjoyable are so important.

My aim is to create a relaxed and positive environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and, most importantly, enjoying the process of learning.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss what your child needs help with, please feel free to message me. ?
