My name is Gina Calder, I am 20 years old and I am currently in my second year at Manchester Metropolitan University studying filmmaking. I grew up in Bristol with my mum, dad and older sister Sadie. I would describe myself as hardworking, resilient and a fast learner. I have great people skills and am very chatty and approachable. Studying film has made me able to work under pressure and efficiently to get the job done. I have taken on roles which have developed my organization, scheduling and coordination skills massively over the past year. I love art and music and enjoy going round new gallery exhibitions and live music jams in Manchester during my spare time.
My Experience
Hospitality + retail:
- I was head waitress at an Indian restaurant called The Pukka Peacock from September 2024- April 2025. I often ran the front of house on my own during a shift, which included opening and closing and waiting on all the tables. I also helped manage the rotas and social media platforms when the owners were away.
- I was a kitchen porter at a café called The Sundial Kitchen for 6 months. When it got busy I would then jump in with running the food and clearing tables.
- I worked for a year as front of house staff at a pub called Beeses. I would clear tables, run the food and occasionally serve on the bar. During the summer many weddings took place here, so I have experience with waiting at wedding events and decorating a venue.
- I worked as a sales assistant at These Two Hands (an arts and craft shop) for a year - May 2024-2025, I would be the only one on shift when I worked so would be in charge of opening and closing.
- I’ve worked with Pikkle (a catering company) as a food server for an awards evening for a tech company in Bristol.
Events:
- I volunteered in the accreditation office doing wristbands for the artists and traders at Tropical Pressure festival in the summer of 2025.
- I volunteered at Bolton film festival (2026) doing the ticket scanning at the door as well as hosting some of the Q&As with the filmmakers.
- I’ve worked on the VIP bar at Powderham Live festival in Exeter.
- I worked as a queue marshal for the bars at the Bristol Pride 2026 festival.
- I was a VIP host for the 2026 Bristol Balloon Fiesta, this included scanning tickets and accommodating the people in the VIP area (serving drinks, providing information and maintaining a clean and tidy space).
- I’ve worked on stalls at various Christmas markets and craft fairs around Bristol.
Childcare + cleaning:
- I’ve been a nanny for the same family for 4 years, 3 kids ages: 9, and twins aged 7. I would cook dinner for them, pick them up from school and put them to bed.
- I regularly do the change overs for houses in my area that get rented out as air b n bs.

My Availability
I am in University on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week. Monday and Wednesday I have off every week and am available on weekends.
