My Summary
About Me
Hi! I’m Karina ? I’m a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner and I’m looking to find a lovely local family who I can help with their childcare.
I’ve worked specifically in the baby room of a nursery for over a year, looking after babies and young children and helping support their learning and development. I absolutely love working with little ones and getting to know all their different personalities. I’m a big believer in letting children learn through play, exploring the world around them and following the child's interests!
I also have nieces and close friends with children, so I’ve always had little ones around me outside of work too and genuinely just really enjoy spending time with children.
I’d describe myself as patient, caring, compassionate and easy-going. I love getting to know each child properly, finding out what they enjoy and building a relationship where they feel really happy, comfortable and safe with me. I’m more than happy getting messy with activities, going out for walks and adventures, reading, singing and playing, as well as having those quieter cosy days when that’s what they need.
I’m really just looking for a happy, welcoming family who wants someone they can trust and who will genuinely care about their children. I’d love to become someone who feels like a familiar and trusted part of family life, while helping make things a little easier for the parents too.
For me, childcare isn’t just about keeping children busy. I want them to have fun, learn, develop, build their confidence, explore and most importantly feel happy and cared for.
I have my Level 3 Early Years qualification and Paediatric First Aid certificate, as well as a full driving licence and my own car, so I’m happy to help with days out, activities, nursery/school runs or just getting out and about.
I can be flexible Monday to Friday and I’m happy to chat about different days, hours or arrangements depending on what your family needs.
Please feel free to pop me a message if you think I might be a good fit for your family – I’d love to have a chat and get to know you! ?
My Experience
I have over a year of experience working in a nursery and spend most of my time in the baby room, which cares for little ones from 3 months up to 2 years. I absolutely love this age and have gained so much experience with everything from bottles, weaning, naps and settling, to supporting first steps, communication, independence and all those exciting little milestones.
Although the baby room is where I work consistently, I regularly help out in both the toddler and preschool rooms too, so I've had lots of experience with different ages and stages across the whole nursery.
I have my Level 3 Early Years qualification, which has given me a really good understanding of child development and how children learn, as well as areas such as safeguarding, SEND, equality and inclusion, health and safety, communication and supporting children's emotional wellbeing. I also hold a Paediatric First Aid certificate.
One of my favourite parts of working with children is getting to know their individual personalities and interests. I'm really passionate about following children's interests in their play and then finding fun ways to extend what they're already enjoying through activities and experiences. I love messy and sensory play, music, reading, creative activities and getting the children involved in everyday things too.
I'm also a massive believer in getting children outside as much as possible – whatever the weather! Whether that's going for a walk, exploring the garden, jumping in puddles, getting muddy or going on little adventures, I think being outdoors is so important for children's development and wellbeing.
More than anything, I just really enjoy helping children grow in confidence, learn new things and have fun. I think children learn best when they feel happy, safe and secure, so building a lovely, trusting relationship with them will always be the most important thing to me.
My Qualifications
I hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification, which has given me a strong understanding of child development, learning through play, safeguarding, SEND, health and safety, and supporting children’s individual needs. I am also Paediatric First Aid trained and have completed additional training in areas including food hygiene and allergen awareness.
