Heather
Babysitter in Glasgow
My Summary
About Me
I am a primary school teacher in training and will be fully qualified next year. I would be happy to provide childcare and homework help in the evenings, and weekends during my studies and even help a bit when I am working full time in my probationary year in 2027. I have an eclectic array of interests including outdoor learning, rural skills, textiles, metalsmithing, pottery, art, football, history, insects/animals, cooking and so much more. Keen to connect with whatever interests your child may have.
My Experience
I have worked in primary schools in the US as a substitute teacher with students with additional support needs, as well as in general education. I know what caring for children with kindness and understanding is like. I am calm and understand how to both redirect and deescalate any difficult behavior. Since moving to Scotland in 2022, I got my MSc in Museum Studies ant Glasgow Uni in 2023. I recently finished working at The Scottish Crannog Centre. There I worked with students from visiting schools, home school programmes, primary/secondary asn classes and nursery groups. We did outdoor learning, engaged with our crannog/loch shore, foraging, cooking over fires, historical crafts, and engaged with our museum collections. I designed a sensory garden and playground as well, and both summers I worked there I was in charge of delivering childcare for our workers children in the Iron Age village. This is a fraction of my experiences, but the most recent.
