Nanny Required – After-School Care for Three Children

Location: Botley / Hedge End area
Start date: As soon as possible following interviews
Regular hours: Wednesdays and Thursdays, with potential for additional hours

I am looking for a reliable, caring, organised and proactive nanny to care for my three children, aged 8, 9 and 12, on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The role involves collecting the children, transporting them to activities, helping with homework, preparing dinner, collecting my eldest daughter from the train station and ensuring the children are safe, happy and settled until my return home.

I would love to find someone who can become a trusted and valued part of my family's routine, with the potential for additional babysitting and household support.

Wednesday – 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm

- Collect the children from Botley C of E School at approximately 3:20 pm.
- Take my youngest child to cheerleading at Synergy Elite in Coldridge, arriving at 4:30 pm.
- Collect her at 5:30 pm and return home with the children.
- Support the children with their homework.
- Prepare and serve dinner for the children.
- Collect my eldest daughter from Hedge End train station at approximately 7:50 pm and bring her home safely.
- Prepare a quick, nutritious vegetarian meal for my eldest daughter on her arrival home. She will already have had food provided after school, so this will be a separate evening meal for her.
- Provide care and supervision for all three children until 9:00 pm.

Thursday – 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm

- Complete two hours of cleaning between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, before the school collection.
- Collect the children from Botley C of E School at approximately 3:20 pm.
- Collect my eldest daughter from Hedge End train station at approximately 5:45 pm and bring her home safely.
- Return home and prepare and serve dinner for the children.
- Ensure the children are settled and cared for until 7:00 pm.

School Holidays

This role is required throughout the school year, including school holidays, rather than during term time only.

During school holidays, the usual school collections may be replaced by collections from holiday camps, clubs or other organised activities. The nanny will need to transport the children to and from these activities as required.

The regular Wednesday and Thursday working arrangements will continue during the holidays, although timings and collection locations may vary depending on the children's schedules. Any changes will be discussed in advance.

Household Duties

I am looking for someone who can undertake approximately two hours of cleaning per week. These hours will be completed on Thursdays from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, before the school collection.

Cleaning duties will help me keep the home clean and organised alongside the childcare responsibilities.

Holiday Pay

Holiday pay will be handled on a rolling basis, with holiday pay added to the regular salary payments, in accordance with the applicable employment rules and the agreed employment contract.

The role is intended to continue throughout the year, including school holidays, rather than being a term-time-only position.

Additional Babysitting and Weekend Availability

There may be opportunities for additional evening babysitting at my home on an ad hoc basis.

I would ideally like someone who can provide advance notice of their availability for weekend evenings, so that I can plan ahead and arrange babysitting when needed. Any additional evenings would be agreed in advance and subject to mutual availability.

Transport and Driving

Driving is essential for this role due to the school collections, extracurricular activities, holiday clubs and train station pick-ups.

I can provide the use of a car while on duty if required, so using your own vehicle is not essential. Mileage is not reimbursed.

The successful candidate must have a full, valid driving licence and be a confident, responsible driver, appropriately authorised and insured to drive the vehicle provided.

The Ideal Candidate

I am looking for someone who:

- Has experience caring for children and is confident managing three children of different ages.
- Is reliable, punctual, trustworthy and well organised.
- Is confident driving and transporting children safely.
- Can support the children with homework and prepare nutritious family meals.
- Is comfortable preparing vegetarian meals when required.
- Is happy to undertake cleaning and general tidying.
- Is flexible about collection arrangements during school holidays.
- Has a warm, patient and proactive approach.
- Can provide suitable references and has an appropriate DBS check, or is willing to obtain one if required.
- Can communicate clearly about availability, particularly for additional weekend evening babysitting.

Pay, Hours and Start Date

- Wednesday: 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm (6 hours)
- Thursday: 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm (6 hours, including two hours of cleaning)
- Total regular hours: 12 hours per week
- Holiday pay: To be paid on a rolling basis alongside regular pay, subject to applicable employment rules
- Additional babysitting: By prior arrangement
- Working pattern: Year-round, including school holidays
- Start date: As soon as possible following interviews
