My Requirements

Hi!! We are looking for a part-time nanny to help look after our little boy, who is currently 6 months!

Ideally, we’re looking for someone 2–3 days per week, initially around 10–4pm, but with some flexibility to work longer hours or additional days when required.

Both my husband and I run our own businesses and work predominantly from home. We work from a separate room/part of the house, so you’ll have free rein of the house with our son without us hovering, but we’ll generally be nearby if you ever need us.

We’re having our loft converted in November 2026, so once we move upstairs, we’ll be even further away, giving you more space and greater access to the rest of the house.

The role

At the moment he has 2, 1- to 1.5-hour naps during the day, which is partly why we’d like some flexibility around the role.

Your main priority will obviously be looking after him: playing with him, supporting his development, taking him for walks and activities, feeding him and generally keeping him happy and entertained.

All of his food and milk will be provided, and we’re very happy to reimburse reasonable expenses for days out, activities, snacks, coffees, etc.

While he’s asleep, we’d also appreciate an extra pair of hands around the house. Nothing excessive or a full housekeeping role, but things like tidying away his toys after playing, resetting the kitchen/living areas, loading or unloading the dishwasher, sorting bottles and generally helping us keep on top of the chaos that comes with having a baby!

We’re ideally looking for someone who:

* Has experience looking after babies of a similar age
* Is warm, relaxed, reliable and confident
* Is happy taking him out for walks, activities and age-appropriate trips
* Is comfortable working independently while we’re working elsewhere in the house
* Is happy to muck in with light household/baby-related jobs while he sleeps
* Can offer some flexibility around additional days or longer hours when needed
* Would ideally be interested in something that could grow into a longer-term position

About us
We’re a pretty relaxed household. Our jobs can be demanding when we’re concentrating or on calls, but we’re otherwise very flexible.

Our son is currently breastfed, but we’re gradually introducing a cup/bottle for milk. There may therefore be a transition period where I continue to breastfeed alongside you giving him milk, with the aim of you taking over feeds during the days you’re caring for him.

Initially, this is a part-time nanny position, but there’s definitely scope for the role to grow as our family does!

There may be opportunities for additional days and longer hours, as well as occasional evenings if we’re out with clients or simply fancy a rare night to ourselves!

We also plan on having more children, so for the right person we’d love this to become a longer-term relationship with someone who grows with our family rather than simply filling a few hours each week.

Location: Bristol
Hours: Initially 2days per week, approximately 09:30 – 15:30 -/+ 30mins
Increasing to 3 days in the near future
Additional hours: Available by mutual agreement
Start date: Early Nov-26
