Full Time Nanny Job in Canterbury
About Me
Looking for help for a busy, friendly family of five living in Canterbury, Kent, with three young boys: two at school (6 and 4) and a younger one at home (10 months) . Our home is busy and lived-in and we take pride in keeping it clean, organised and running smoothly. Weare looking for someone reliable and trustworthy to become a long-term part of our household.
My Requirements
The family are looking for a full-time nanny/housekeeper, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (40 hours plus a 1-hour lunch break). The role is mainly housekeeping with some childcare.
The day starts as the older boys leave for school. The main jobs are:
Clearing up the kitchen after breakfast
Laundry and ironing
Making beds and tidying bedrooms
Hoovering and washing the floors
Tidying the playroom
Keeping the bathrooms clean, with a deep clean weekly
Changing all bed linen weekly
In the afternoon, you’d mind our youngest for an hour or so when needed, prepare snacks for when the boys get home and make their dinner for around 5pm, then clear up afterwards. We’d also like help keeping the boys’ wardrobes, school bags and uniforms organised. Once the main jobs are done, we’d like attention to the details too: skirting boards, dusting, cobwebs and marks on walls.
We’re looking for someone proactive, meticulous and completely trustworthy, who sees what needs doing without being asked.
Essential:
Full UK driving licence and own car (all expenses incurred due to travel will be reimbursed)
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Paediatric first aid
Proven childcare experience
Family housekeeping experience
Two family references
Pay: £16-£20 gross per hour depending on experience and negotiable for the right candidate, plus 45p per mile for work journeys, paid holiday
