About Me

We are a warm and welcoming family living in Rugby. Family life is very important to us, and we are looking for a kind, patient and understanding childminder who can become a trusted part of our little one's life.

Our foster son is 6 years old and has autism, ADHD and severe learning disabilities. He has his own unique personality, interests and ways of communicating, and he thrives with familiar routines, patience and a calm, supportive environment.

We are hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys working with children with additional needs and who will take the time to get to know him as an individual. We would love to find someone who can help him feel safe, happy and comfortable while giving him opportunities to enjoy new experiences at his own pace.

My Requirements

Registered Childminder

We are looking for a registered childminder in Rugby who has relevant SEN qualifications and practical experience supporting children with complex additional needs, particularly autism, ADHD and severe learning disabilities.

Experience supporting mostly non-verbal children is essential. The childminder should be comfortable supporting communication difficulties, sensory needs, predictable routines, behaviour regulation and personal care, including nappy changes.

We are looking for flexible, occasional childcare, ideally on Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons/ half day to full day. Care would take place at the childminder's home.

Patience, understanding, a calm approach and the ability to provide appropriate supervision are very important. We would be happy to arrange an introductory meeting and gradual settling-in sessions before care begins.
