My Requirements

We are looking for a friendly, patient and reliable person to help our two boys, aged 8 and 12, establish a consistent homework routine three afternoons a week.

Hours:5:00–6:00 pm, 3 days per week
Location: Beckenham
Start date: As soon as possible
Pay: Depending on experience

We already have a mother’s help who looks after the children after school, but we would like to introduce a more structured afternoon routine, with homework as a priority.

The role involves:
- Supervising homework time and ensuring both children complete their assigned work.
- Creating a calm, focused and positive environment.
- Keeping the children motivated, organised and on task.
- Encouraging independence and good study habits.
- Providing occasional guidance where needed, rather than formal tutoring.

The ideal candidate:
- Has experience working with school aged children.
- Is patient, friendly, confident and firm when needed.
- Can establish clear expectations and maintain a consistent routine.
- Ideally has experience in childcare, teaching assistance or a school environment.
- Is reliable and able to commit to a regular weekly schedule.

This is primarily a homework supervision role rather than academic tutoring and would suit a teaching assistant, experienced childcare professional or responsible university student.
