Nanny in Musselburgh (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I was born and raised in the United States but have always wanted to move away and explore what the rest of the world has to offer. I decided the perfect time to do that was for university. I fell in love with Scotland when I visited and knew it was where I was meant to be. I have an older sister and a younger brother. I spent lots of time with my younger brother and was helping take care of him from a young age. My experience starts early on from family, but also I have been a nanny for two years now. I have lots of experience with babysitting as well. The first family I ever nannied for had three kids all a year apart, with the youngest being four months old, so I can definitely handle a lot and am good at multitasking. I have the most experience with infants but have cared for kids up to five years old. I have a large focus on brain development for all ages, but especially babies. I do things like sensory stimulation and learning activities to help with each child’s development. I try and get kids outdoors as much as possible and love planning creative activities and crafts that are both fun and good for development. My number one priority is providing a safe environment for each and every child, as well as ensuring that they feel seen and cared for. I am in school for education and my plan is to become a teacher for younger children. I have always loved working with kids and am passionate about making the world a better place by teaching young minds to be kind to others and take care of the world. I am committed, hard working, and dedicated to every family that I work with.
My Experience
The first family I looked after had a 4 month old boy, a 1 year old boy, and a 2 year old girl. I helped a bit around the house but the parents wanted my main focus to be on the kids and adhering to a strict nap schedule. I spent almost all day outside with the kids and we were always busy doing something - there was never a dull moment! I worked every single day (including weekends) with varying hours. The average per day was about 6 hours. I was only with this family for a short time because they ended up moving, but I gained a lot of experience from them. The second family I nannied for had a 5 month old boy and a 3 year old girl. I did lots of sensory development with the baby and lots of crafts and play time with the 3 year old. I cleaned around the house (dishes, vacuuming, tidying, etc.) and occasionally did laundry as well. No meal prep, but I would make lunch for the three year old every day. I worked 7 hours a day Monday through Friday for a year until the mom stopped working to stay home full time. The last family I nannied for was only for three months during the summer, but it was a lot of helping around the house when I wasn’t taking care of the kids. This family had a 6 year old boy, but he was gone at camp most of the day. They also had a 1 year old daughter who I took care of. They have a baby on the way and have already asked me to come back next summer to help out again!
