Special Needs Nanny
I supported a young man with cerebral palsy and global developmental delay. Supporting him and family to prepare for residential college in September after earlier behavioral placement challenges.
Working alongside a team of therapists including music therapists, occupational therapists and speech, language therapists, and a home tutor delivery an EOTIS programme.
• Organised calendar and social events
• Maintained a clean tidy and organised bedroom and communal areas.
• Regularly washed and organised clothing.
• Embedding a physiotherapy programme into his daily routine. This included the use of a walker, standing frame, standing sling, G.R.A.F.O, floor stretches, wedge, turn aid and long sitting on a postural beanbag.
• Facilitating and managing hospital appointments, social visits, and community outings. Alongside medication and meals and supporting with personal care including toileting and showering.
• Implementing personalised routines and strategies to support communication, regulation, and independence.
