Hello! My name is Josie and I am a friendly, caring and enthusiastic qualified primary school teacher with a genuine passion for helping children learn, grow and thrive.
I pride myself on being patient, compassionate and approachable, always taking the time to understand each child’s individual personality, strengths and needs. I believe that every child deserves to feel confident, valued and supported in their learning.
As a primary school teacher, I understand how important it is to make learning enjoyable and engaging. I love celebrating the little achievements just as much as the big ones and helping children recognise what they are capable of.
My aim is to create a positive, nurturing and relaxed learning environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing confidence at their own pace.
I offer personalised one-to-one tutoring in the comfort of your own home, ensuring each session is tailored to your child’s needs and interests. I look forward to helping your child flourish!
My Experience
I am a qualified primary school teacher with experience teaching and supporting children across the primary age range. I have a degree in Early Childhood Studies and a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
I am passionate about helping children grow in confidence, develop a love of learning and reach their full potential. I understand that every child learns differently and pride myself on creating a warm, nurturing and encouraging environment where children feel safe, valued and supported.
I have experience supporting children with a range of abilities and additional learning needs. I adapt my teaching to suit each child's individual needs, making learning engaging, enjoyable and accessible.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified primary school teacher with a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
As a practising Year 3 teacher, I have hands-on experience planning and delivering engaging English and maths lessons, assessing children’s progress and adapting my teaching to meet individual learning needs. I am experienced in supporting children of varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
My approach is patient, nurturing and encouraging, with a strong focus on building children’s confidence, strengthening their understanding and helping them develop a genuine love of learning.
My Availability
I offer flexible tutoring sessions to fit around your family’s routine, with availability after school, weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.
I am happy to travel to your home, providing a comfortable and familiar environment where your child can feel relaxed and confident in their learning.
