My Experience

With over 2 years of teaching experience, I work mainly with children aged 2–14, from little beginners discovering Mandarin for the first time to older students developing their language skills or preparing for YCT and HSK exams.

I believe learning Mandarin should be fun, natural and meaningful, especially for children!

What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing my students grow in confidence, from saying their first words in Mandarin to having real conversations!

My Qualifications

My lessons are interactive, creative and adapted to each student's age, interests and learning goals.

I love using storytelling, picture books, drawing, games, role-play and visual activities to make Mandarin easier to understand and remember.

Rather than simply memorising vocabulary, I encourage students to use Chinese naturally through conversations, stories and everyday situations.

For Young Children (Ages 2–5)

Learning happens through play!

We explore Mandarin through toys, songs, picture books, storytelling and everyday interactions. I follow each child's interests and pace, creating a relaxed environment where they can gradually become familiar with the language.

For Children (Ages 5–14)

I combine creative activities with more structured learning, including:

• Speaking, listening and pronunciation
• Chinese character recognition and reading
• Storytelling and cultural activities
• YCT and HSK exam preparation
• Building confidence in everyday communication

• Babysitting from £25.00 per hour
• Tutoring from £30.00 per hour

I offer two lesson formats depending on how much preparation and structure you're looking for:

?Guided Mandarin Practice

Flexible, student-led sessions focusing on conversation, pronunciation, reading, homework support or learning through everyday activities.

These sessions follow your interests and immediate learning needs, without additional customised lesson preparation.

One-to-one: £30/hour
Two students: £45/hour (total)

?Personalised Mandarin Lessons

Structured lessons designed around your level, interests and learning goals.

These include advance lesson planning, tailored activities and learning materials, as well as ongoing feedback to support your progress.

One-to-one: £40/hour
Two students: £60/hour (total)

?Minimum Booking
Regular in-person lessons have a minimum booking of 1.5 hours per visit.

For younger children, sessions can include play, stories and short breaks to suit their age and attention span.

Free 30-minute online introductory session
45-minute in-person trial: £20

?Cancellation & Rescheduling

Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
Rescheduling is subject to mutual availability. If something unexpected comes up, please let me know as soon as possible.
