Mothers Help Job in Haywards Heath
About Me
We are a friendly family of three living in Haywards Heath looking for a reliable, warm and proactive person to provide 4 hours of household support each week.
We have a young daughter, aged 16 months, and two busy working parents.
My Requirements
Part-Time Family Assistant / Mother's Help
Haywards Heath | 4 hours per week | £16–£18 per hour | Flexible weekday
We already have a weekly cleaner, so this is not primarily a cleaning role. We are looking for someone who can take some of the everyday household load off us, particularly meal preparation, ironing and general household organisation.
The role would mainly include:
Preparing and cooking simple, healthy family meals, ideally batch cooking several meals for the week
Tidying the kitchen after cooking
Ironing, and occasional laundry folding
Light household organisation and tidying
Other small household tasks as needed
We would ideally like the same person to be comfortable with young children and potentially able to provide occasional babysitting/childcare outside the regular four hours, for example on a Friday, an occasional weekday evening and very occasionally at the weekend. This isn't essential, however, and we are happy to arrange childcare separately for the right household-help candidate.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
Warm, trustworthy and reliable
Proactive and happy to work independently
A good, confident home cook
Comfortable preparing healthy meals for adults and a toddler
Organised and happy to help with laundry/ironing
Ideally experienced around babies/toddlers
Able to provide references
If providing childcare, ideally DBS checked and with paediatric first-aid training
Hours: 4 hours per week, preferably in one regular block. We have some flexibility regarding the day/time.
Location: Haywards Heath
Pay: £16–£18 gross per hour depending on experience. Higher rate can be discussed for someone with strong nanny/childcare and cooking experience.
Start: Ideally November 2026 / January 2027.
We're hoping to find someone who can become a trusted, long-term helping hand for our family rather than simply someone to complete a list of chores each week.
