I am a single Mum and my son is 10 and is in Year 5. I work full time in London, we live in Colchester, Essex. My son is in a Specialist SEMH Primary Provision, with an EHCP in place. He is diagnosed with ADHD and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) and is on the pathway for an Autism diagnosis. Experience of working with SEN children is essential, as well as being a driver with a car, full driving licence and business insurance. A clean DBS check would also be required.

I would like Summer Holiday childcare, 1 or 2 days a week, possibly more for the right person. I am looking for a Mothers Help/PA/Carer with a good understanding of SEN needs, to look after my son whilst I go to work.

Times:
8.00am - 6.00pm
Days: Negotiable
Duties - Arrive at the house and take over from me. Provide my son with a fun day, of child led activities. This can be simply being at home, playing with him, providing food and snacks, with maybe one trip out each day. To help me keep on top of life, light housekeeping duties will be included around caring for my son. (hanging washing up, keeping kitchen clean, making beds etc)

My son has almost completed his first year in full time alternative provision following six months since last January where he was out of school and he was only in part time/temporary alternative provision. He has done really well and settled in there. He is attending an After School Club where he is also very settled there, with 121 provision in place. He forms bonds easily with calm, understanding adults, who offer reassurance, firm boundaries and understanding of his needs.

I'm hoping if he forms a good bond with someone, this role could continue into the next term and I could have some time outside of these hours to have some respite care to allow me to recharge, as I am the full time resident parent too.

My son is a kind little boy, who loves Roblox, Lego, construction toys, trains, cars, water balloon fights, football, dinosaurs - all the usual boy things! His anxiety makes it difficult sometimes to access activities, but with patience and the right experience, he might be able to do this with a carer.
