About Me

I Maria de Fatima T.C.M.Reis, I am a childminder since September 2009, in May 2019 Ofsted graded me with a Met as didn't had children at the time, I have Cache Level 3 diploma in Home Base Child Care, I am registered with the Ofsted, have a Pediatric First Aid course, this one was renewed in 2020, have a course in Level 2 in food safety in catering so I am able to cook for children if parents need me to do so, I have a course in Safeguarding the children to be renewed in 2022, I have been checked with the CRB and had a Heath Checked, previously I worked at Chalk Ridge Primary School as a Lunch Time Supervisor, and was as well a volunteer doing reading and helping in the classroom with some craft work.
The childcare has an outdoor play area.
A indoor area for the kids to play in a wet day, like computer, play station board games, puzzles, craft, coloring, reading and toys according to the age of the child.

I recognize the value in making sure that your child is in safe and in caring hands.
Choosing the right place for your child is a difficult decision for any parent to make. My aim is to create a secure, friendly and cosy environment that is stimulating for the child and gives parents’ confidence.
My priority is the physical, emotional, intellectual and social well being and development of the children in my care. Assist the transition between home and my childcare.
My objectives.
Are to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment in a rural setting where children can learn and develop positively as individuals and benefit from the space I can provide.
To provide children with confidence and ability to communicate effectively with each other and myself and prepare them for their future school.
Opening Hours

My childcare hours are 7.30am - 5.30pm, (before and after these times can be arranged for by prior arrangement).
I am open 5 days a week excluding Bank Holidays.
My fees are £4.75 per hour for full time care and £5.25 per hour for part time(5 hours minimum).
For before school and after school pick up fees are £6/hour minimum 2 hour.
There is an additional charge whenever a child is collected outside the contract hours (2 pounds)
A fees is payable during parents holidays and sickness absences.
Fees are payable monthly or weekly in advance. Late payment will give arise of £5.00/day
One month's notice should be given to withdraw a child from the care.
Activities and procedures.
My focus of learning will be through play but children will be taught to enjoy arts and crafts, early math, language and physical development.
All children will be offered equal opportunities.
There is a scheduled snack time in the morning and afternoon. Water is always available to the children at snack time and throughout the day. For young children bottles of milk should be provider by parents and kept refrigerated.

Parents must provide a packed lunch, which should contain an ice pack. Lunch boxes must be clearly marked with the child's name.
Diseases
If a child contracts any infectious illness parents must tell me without delay and I will advise them as to whether or not the child can attend.
Administering of First Aid
I have a Pediatric First Aid Certificate. All accidents are entered on an Accident Report form and will be signed by childminder and counter-signed by the parent.
Toileting/Nappies
Nappies and wipes must be provided by parents for the child.
Administering of First Aid
Full details must be given in advance with a signed and dated request if I have to administer any medication. Details required will include name of medicine, time of last dose, dosage and times required with any special instructions.
Arrangements when your child is ill
If your child becomes ill or unduly distressed during my childcare hours, I will endeavor to contact a parent of the child so that arrangements can be made for early collection.
In the interests of other children and myself it will be necessary to exclude any child who has been diagnosed with certain contagious illnesses and diseases.
Care & discipline
Each and every child is treated as an individual. I will closely monitor your child's progress and welfare. In cases of 'anti social' behavior, I will endeavor to explain why such behavior is unacceptable. I will use only positive guidance, redirection and the setting of clear-cut boundaries that enable the child to become self-disciplined. My aim is to encourage the children to be fair, respect property, and respect others and to be responsible for their own actions.
Discipline and guidance is consistent and based on an understanding of the individual needs and development of your child.
Aggressive physical behavior towards a child or myself is unacceptable. I will intervene immediately when a child becomes physically aggressive to protect all children and encourage more acceptable behavior.
Procedure for Collection of Children
The child will only released to the adults listed on the contract. Release to any other adult may occur with a written authorization signed and dated by the parent (s). I have a password system in place for this. Identification may be requested at any time. How to make a complain.
I hope that you will not feel it is necessary but if you wish to make a complaint you must first discuss matters with myself. If this does not resolve matters to your satisfaction then you are asked to put your complaint in writing to me.
