About Me
My name is sharon thorpe, I live with my husband paul and my son Charlie 30 and our gorgeous cocker spaniel poppy. I enjoy walking the dog and keep fit classes. We live in The Ridings, across the road from a small park and nearby nature walks. In my home the children have access to two reception rooms a play room and downstairs toilet with easy access and view to the garden area. We have a good sized secure garden with a variety of outside toys.
Activities at home we have yoga and movement session, music singing and actions. Story time Arts and crafts. we go on daily outings to toddler groups, library, soft play, visits to wakehurst place, national trust parks, garden centres and local parks where we have sports days and the nature reserve where we go on bug hunts build dens look at the changes in seasons take crafts and activities for our little explorers. I also arrange monthly sessions with little city East Sussex .
My setting is home from home childcare in a calm safe nurturing environment. A smaller setting provides more flexibility for the children to thrive whilst learning to socialise with others. We also meet with other smaller settings on daily visits to enable to children the opportunity to mix with larger groups of children and to provide confidence to build relationships with others.
Babies and childrens regular routines for sleeps following safer sleep legislation 2026 and lullaby trust guidance. Sleeping in travel cots and sleep mats with constant supervision
All snacks provided will be following EYFS healthy eating guidance only water or milk are provided for drinks
Great opportunity for your child to experience learning the EYFS in a smaller more bespoke environment, activities supporting their individual interests at a pace which suits them, preparing them for the transition to nursery and school
My Experience
I am ofsted registered childminder who is able to provide EYFE funded 15/30 hours a week term time only, this is dependent on personal details and criteria being met. Please complete application on childcare choices website to obtain code in advance of starting any childcare setting . I have over 20 years experience in childcare. I regularly keep up to date with training on several courses and have completed a level 3 NVQ in child care. I am also a level 3 SENCO. I provide childcare in a friendly nurturing safe caring home from home environment.
