Hi, I’m a professional but easy-going English nanny living in Acton. I qualified 34 years ago at the age of 18, but I have been caring for children since I was 13 and have always worked in childcare.
I have a wealth of experience working with children from newborn babies through to older children, mainly as a nanny, but also in nurseries, schools and family support. I have cared for triplets, twins and nanny shares of four or more children, so I am very comfortable caring for one child or several children at once.
I have also worked for nearly 5 years in a mainstream primary school in a Key Stage 1 & 2 ARP, mainly supporting autistic children, giving me valuable SEND experience. I later returned to nannying and am now back working in a mainstream school, where I also lead a class with five SEND children. I also ran my SEND class for five months while the teacher was off sick.
Alongside my childcare work, I have volunteered with Home-Start, supporting families with children from newborn to five years old, and worked alongside Social Services to help families get back on track with areas such as safeguarding, health, hygiene and boundaries. I also volunteered with Coram, taking part in their six-week Talk Time sessions for parents and children. I was very proud to be awarded Home-Start Volunteer of the Quarter.
I am fun, reliable, trustworthy, responsible, organised and tidy, with a calm and down-to-earth approach. I genuinely love working with children and take pride in providing a safe, caring and happy environment. I also have First Aid training and wonderful, checkable references to support my experience.
My Experience
I am a highly experienced and dedicated childcare professional with 34 years of qualified experience working with children and families in a wide range of settings, including nurseries, schools, family support services and private childcare.
The majority of my career has been as a sole-charge nanny, caring for children from newborn babies through to older children. I have extensive experience supporting children's individual needs, routines, development and wellbeing, while providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment.
Throughout my career, I have gained valuable experience with multiple births, including triplets, nanny shares and sole-charge positions. I am confident caring for children of different ages and managing the varied responsibilities that come with working closely with families.
My experience with Home-Start further developed my understanding of supporting children and parents. As part of my role, I completed an 8-week course covering a wide range of important areas, including safeguarding, mental health, postnatal depression, personal safety, children's play and development, listening skills and supporting families affected by disabilities.
I am passionate about childcare and take pride in building trusting relationships with both children and parents. I am reliable, caring, responsible and adaptable, with a wealth of practical experience gained over more than three decades.
I can also provide excellent, checkable references from families and employers, supporting the extensive experience and commitment I have built throughout my 34 years in childcare.
