About Me
Hi, my name is Samantha and I have been a nanny for the past 35 years for local families.
Having grown up in the local area, I now live in Heathfield, East Sussex with my partner and grown up daughter (24)
During my time as a qualified Nursery Nurse, I have cared for a wide range of children whose ages range from birth to teenager. I enjoy looking after children immensely and particularly love helping them develop skills that they will use in everyday life and watching them gain a thirst for knowledge.
I feel passionately that when children are young, they are ready to learn any skills that we can teach them, and that the more knowledge that we can provide for them, the more they will develop a healthy curiosity for the world in which we live.
My areas of expertise are baking, craft and developing fine motor skills. I also enjoy taking the children on outings to local parks, National Trust properties, the beach and family attractions.
I am very aware that both reading and being read to, are an important part of a child’s learning journey and I make sure that all of the children in my care are read to every day, and I also encourage them to read to me.
Caring for children has been an important part of my life for a very long time. I have always loved my work and I could not imagine a life which didn’t include working with children.
I have my own car with business use insurance - car seats will need to provided by the family for their children.

My Experience
Having started my career 35 years ago in a local nursery, I have since worked as a private Nanny for local families. My focus within my nannying role is to gain a solid understanding of the individual family and their requirements. Throughout my career, I have worked alongside parents to support their child/children to ensure that they have a safe and nurtured upbringing. My experience includes supporting children who experience, autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties.

-BTEC Diploma in Nursery Nursing
-Paediatric First Aid Course
-Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
-Child Protection (1&2)
-EYFS Course - supporting the development of PSED (personal, social, emotional development)
My Availability
My job as a before and after nanny is coming to an end in December 2025 .
Currently I’m working at a school from 9-2 . So looking for after school nanny position. I can work full time in the school holidays .
I am also available for babysitting including evenings and special events such as weddings.
